IMAGINARY PEOPLE ALPHABET TAG SWAP
KATY'S CORNER UK YAHOO GROUP
26 people took part in this alphabet swap - can't think why???? Each participant was asked to stamp a tag with a person on it. They were each assigned a letter of the alphabet and asked to give their 'person' a name, beginning with that letter. They then had to write a paragraph on the reverse of the tag, which would give as much detail as possible in such a small space.
When your mouse hovers over the images, you'll see a caption, describing what each item is.

Little girl with such funny ideas always that she never failed to make me smile, no matter how I've felt before.
Today she wears a turquoise veil
Her diamonds sparkle in the sun
She sensually does her Belly Sway
On carefree golden summer days
Here and now she'll dance for you
Between the rocks and on the sand
Making sure the Bling you bring
Is pressed quite firmly in her hand
Moods can change so easily
And it is easy to forget
Just how exciting it was to flirt
With the Belly Dancer of El Portet
Clara was a born dreamer. Ever since her father had taken her to the circus when she was a little girl she had dreamt of being a world famous trapeze artiste. So, one day she ran away to join the circus. Sadly, she discovered that she was afraid of heights and her dreams were shattered. However, she loved the circus life so much that she decided to stay and joined the clowns. There, she met Coco and found true love. They married, raised a family and their daughter became the famous trapeze artiste that Clara had longed to be.
Delyth sits in the early evening sun, outside her lowly, limewashed cottage, set into the hillside, overlooking Cardigan Bay. She is spinning the wool for the next batch of stockings. Having put the little ones to bed, she's tired now; life's load is such a cumbersome bundle at times...... Still, she keeps scanning the horizon where the lane comes up over the rise, she smiles to herself, soon her William will appear; home from London, home from the drove.
Elvina is a fairy whose job it is to collect the dew from the flowers for the Fairy Queen’s bath. Her
name means ‘friend of the elves’ but she doesn’t feel at all friendly towards the elves–they get all the fun jobs, not like hers. She wistfully contemplates filling a bell flower with dew and rigging it
so that, when an elf goes by on a grasshopper, riding escort to the Royal coach, it would tip and give him an unexpected shower! She could hide amongst the flowers and watch…
I was born Florence Abagail Van Dorn in San Francisco, California. I became Flossie the Flower Child at 19, while attending college at Berkeley. Outgrew that and became Flo Flo the Fan Dancer at 26. At 33 I became Florence the Femme Fatale. That's grown so old now I'm thinking of being Florencita the Flamenco Dance instructor. Or should I join the CIA? My 4th husband, Reginald, thinks I should stay home with my five children. Silly Boy!
My friend was the model child of the upper class but her father disinherited her when she married beneath herself. The class differences between her and her husband caused a domestic turmoil that led her imagination to work overtime concocting a fantasy life that completely supplemented her real one. She was always laughing to disguise her sadness, but as soon as she stopped laughing I could sense that her heart was about to break.
H is for Hedda. An ardent fan of anything old, trawling charity shops for vintage clothes and spending Sunday afternoons watching old movies.
She feels she has artistic inclinations and is an enthusiastic and vocal member of the local ADS but feels her undoubted acting talent is not always recognised.
She dreams of playing Scarlet O'Hara - if only she had been born earlier........... a sentiment her friends in the drama group often agree with.
She knew that the only solution was to go out and seek the truth. She didn't ask for this assignment but she would stop at nothing to find out what really happened that day. Then she could put all this horrid business behind her and get on with life. As she boarded her flight, she began to feel rather strange. She looked at the other passengers and she screamed in terror..... how did this happen?

Katarina (Krankie) Krankenhausen was first discovered during a house clearance in 1990, after the death of the owner. She was living in a box in the attic, behind a thick cobweb, surrounded by every button that had ever gone missing during the deceased's lifetime. The property has recently been converted into luxury apartments by the present owners, Mr & Mrs Willoughby-Pimblett III, but despite repeated requests to vacate the premises, Katarina refuses to leave her box, which she herself has transformed into a self contained living space, suitable for one person. The case has now become a matter for the courts as Katarina vociferously claims squatters' rights.
NB It is worth noting that the buttons are now attached to a decorative frame which remains with Katarina to this day.
L'Vel (AKA Leander Valentino Longbottom) was worn out. His party had lasted 2 days -= who'd be 80?! And who had his clothes?? He remembered dancing to the rock band with Anna; and singing Karaoke with Bill and Leo but then he'd lost time somewhere - perhaps he'd slept after all. Louisa thought he'd be tired after the first few hours - h'mmm, he'd shown her......... He had had a full life, regretted nothing and it seemed he must have done something right since there were lots of people, both friends and relatives, at his party. It was sad that some of the older ones hadn't stayed for the dancing, and he thought that his own bones would soon be complaining but wasn't it a marvellous way to celebrate?
The Myth of Myfanwy (with a twist)
Above the town of Langollen
In the ruins of Castell Dinas Bran
Lies the Myth of Sweet Myfanwy
Who could have courted any man
The young bard, Hywel, from the valley
Came to court the pretty young dame
Proclaiming love through songs and poem
But sweet Myfanwy was far too vain
Now time has past and the ghost of Myfanwy
Lives on among the daffodils
And Hywel bleats about her beauty
As he frolicks on Welsh hills
This is how she always felt when her lover sent her a note. Alone and desperately unhappy. Yes, there was jubilation and her heart sang to hear from him. The anticipation of reading the golden words inside. To feel near him, hear his words in her head. But after. Reality hit. He wasn't there. He was away in another part of the world. And she missed him passionately with a longing, lonely heart.
Almost breathless with excitement, she carefully put on his favourite dress, after bathing in water heady with his favourite perfume.
The talk of the village, she was a mysterious young widow, virtually a recluse since the death of her husband. Suddenly, she was being seen again in the company of a tall, dark, handsome stranger. She tried not to dwell on the hurtful words which had reduced her to tears when she read them in the local newspaper. Instead, she allowed herself the luxury of contemplating the evening ahead, when she would once more feel complete, even if only for a short while.
Small minded people would never be able to grasp the innocent truth; this was the love of her life - her son .........
Percy drives the trolley bus to Pimlico each day. In all of his ten years as a conductor and then driver, he has never been late - a fact he is very proud of.
He loves to pass the time of day with his many passengers who rely on him to get to their work.
Guten Tag! My name is Querida Quatschen. I am 11 years old and live in Bamberg, Germany. My mother is Spanish and my father is German. I study violin at the music academy near my home. It is a great honour to attend this school. We begin our day very early with practice, and then more practice after our lessons are finished.
When I practice at home, my dog, Querschnitt, sounds like a horn trying to accompany me. Perhaps it will sound better when both of us improve.
Her name was Rosa, she was a show girl, with purple flowers in her hair... How her mother wished she had stayed at the finishing school, but sensible shoes were not for her. But oh, how the boys loved her!
One sunny day, Skelly took his home made fishing rod.
It was made from a length of bamboo, some strong nylon thread, a bent safety pin for a hook and spam for bait.
He sauntered to the bottom of his garden to where the river flowed. He went to his favourite spot under the sycamore tree.
He cast his line into the river and no sooner than he had cast his line he felt a tug on it so he quickly pulled back the rod and there was a strange fish wriggling on the hook.
As Skelly unhooked the fish, it spat out what looked to be a coin, it was a sovereign. A silver sovereign.
Skelly couldn't believe his eyes. He hesitated as he placed the fish back into the water and it appeared to wink at him as he did and fish was gone!
Skelly picked up the coin and placed it carefully into his pocket. He sat down slowly under the shade of the sycamore tree and he smiled as he stroked the silver sovereign in his pocket shining in the darkness.
Meet Timothy Twitcher as he creeps stealthily through the dense undergrowth of the vast forests of Northern England in search of the very rare lesser spotted stamping bird, in particular Cathicus Organisus and Dotticus Encouragus. Tim may be exceedingly boring but this cannot be said for these exotic birds and their many followers. Join him on his journey of discovery. Will he ever succeed in introducing the outside world to the strange habits of the Katicornerus Stampus Addictus species?
Ursula Undress was relaxing on the new patio enjoying the summer sun with an exotic cocktail, whilst waiting for her husband to return from Tescos.
She liked to watch Hunky Hank the Handyman/Gardener fiddling in the beds, peeling her grapes and demonstrating his hardened skills with his chopper!
Ursula's husband had last been seen in the cold meat section, aisle 13 in the Spring...........!
25 again! Her career as Supermodel was over – Venus knew it was time to sack her style Guru.
She felt she was a tad out of step with Stepford these days – they could keep their job offer as ‘Domestic’ – it was time to move on.
She still had both arms and legs – life on the High Wire beckoned!
I'm WILDA world traveller
I love my bike which takes me far
It revs and throbs beneath my form
The engine keeps my botty warm!
I'll soon be in a town near you
You'll hear my bike as I ride through
I'll be real close to where you are
I'm WILDA world traveller
Xemba often dreamt of home. But where was “home”? Strange dreams invaded her nights.
Dreams of flat, brown land stretching as far as the eye could see, broken only by the giant Baobab tree – the tree God had planted upside down in his wrath. Nights filled with the sounds of wild drums and images of brown bodies glistening in the fire light. Of lions roaring, elephants softly grumbling, and hyenas barking.
“A far cry from New York,” she thought to herself. But then, maybe not.
Yvette writes in her journal daily, she writes of her dreams and hopes of travelling to experience new and exciting things. But being a woman in the 19th Century, she has so few choices and is required to stay at home, devoting her life to becoming a good home maker. Yvette often feels lonely, bored and sad.
As Zentanna grazed on the Savannah he liked to think about the tale his great grandmother told him when he was just a baby zebra. A long, long time ago, zebras had been pure white. The story says they were captured by the black man, who wanted to use them as work horses. But the stubborn zebras dug their hooves in and refused. The black man was furious and, pulling a charred stick out of the fire, he beat the zebras again and again, until he fell to the ground in an exhausted sleep. When he awoke the next day, he saw that his herd of pure white zebras was covered in black stripes...... and that, my friend, is how the zebra got its stripes.
