BIND IT ALL CALENDAR
A smashing idea for a Christmas (or any other occasion) gift, especially if you have photos you can use or intermingle with stamped images. You can make this in an afternoon if you have everything cut and to hand.
These are just ideas for your pages, but if you can try to select images/photos which are relevant to the particular month it is nice. The girls at the workshop did a front page, too - I forgot to do one of those when I was doing my sample.
SUPPLIES
Heavy card in the following sizes:-
11.5 x 6 x 1
6 x 4.75 x 7 (six if you dont want a cover page)
3.75 x 3 x 12
2 x 2 x 12
Calendar sheet
A5 Vellum
Alphabet Letters (these were cut with a Cricut)
6 Coil - three quarters of an inch size
A5 Scrap of white card
Bind it all
Inks, Dabbers and stamps to decorate
Scor-it or Stylus tool, pencil and ruler
INSTRUCTIONS
1 Place the larger piece of card face down on the board and score at the centre. This is the base of the calendar. Fold, then punch the two open ends of the folded card at the same time, using the Bind it all. Punch each of the pages, being sure to line it up with the base youve just punched. You could easily punch three at a time, but I think it best to punch two at a time, to avoid slippage. You really need these to line up perfectly.
2 Open up the card again and place on the Scor-it board, this time with the pattern facing you (we used Hammer card, so there was a distinct pattern) and score one inch from the fold on both sides of the centre fold. Crisp all folds with a bone folder. The centre fold will then become a mountain fold, which will enable the base to stand upright.
3 Put all the pages together in order, with the folded base at the back, then flip the base over (as if you're turning the pages of a book over, from back to front) so that it is at the front, then bind, following the instructions which come with the machine . The reason you need to do this is so that the coil meets INSIDE the back cover - this makes it far less likely to unravel.
4 Decorate each smaller piece of card to suit the month. Outline with Dabbers and/or with an inkpad, so that it will stand out from the white page.
5 Cut each month of the calendar itself to size and mount onto the smaller black cards.
6 Attach the image (you could use photos instead of stamped images, if you like) to the left hand side of the page, keeping the border around top, bottom and left hand side even. Attach month to bottom right hand side, aligning with base of the image. Attach letter of the month above the calendar.
