Quick and easy Christmas Cards

kbluevillage.jpg (11689 bytes)

This has to be one of the quickest and easiest Christmas cards I've ever made and it looks so effective.  Unfortunately, the scan doesn't show up the Hologram embossing powder, but it has a lovely starry and snowy effect.

Supplies

Glossy white cardstock

Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze pad

Funstamps Q27 Christmas Village

Plain white cardstock

Memories Midnight Blue inkpad (or other inkpad)

Hologram Embossing Powder

Greetings stamp

Instructions

Using the Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze ink pad, carefully ink up your stamp (Funstamps Q27) - selecting colours so that the darker blues are at the top of your image, for the darker sky, and stamp onto glossy cardstock.

Since the card is glossy, although this is a dye ink, it will not dry immediately and you have the time to sprinkle on some Hologram Embossing Powder.  Heat and be dazzled!

Adhere to a layer of toning blue cardstock, just larger than your image.  Add to your white card and then stamp a message in blue (I used Memories Midnight Blue for the message).  The message here is a PSX stamp.

What could be easier and quicker than that?

This works with other similar stamps - more examples will be posted soon.

This one's been brayered with the Fiskar's Snowflake brayer (the one with the handle and interchangeable rollers) in Moonlight White Brilliance ink, then embossed in Hologram ep.  The central image is a PSX stamp - F2104 - and that's done in the same way as the previous image.  The dots are Liquid Pearls and Diamond Sparkles.  Fun to do!

Supplies

PSX Snow Village K1603

Permanent black inkpad - I used Brilliance Graphite Black but you could use Memories or Stazon Black inkpad

White cardstock

Watercolour pencils

White Marvy Appliqué

Diamond Sparkles (PSX)

Corner Lace punch

Black cardstock

Red cardstock

Red fibres

Instructions

Stamp image in permanent black ink on white cardstock.  Colour in with watercolour pencils, using the waterbrush to just add small splashes of colour, especially to the trees and houses.   Using Marvy Appliqué, apply snow effect as desired, over rooftops, on trees and on ground.  Add PSX Sparkles (Diamond) to trees and snow, to give a sparkly effect.  Leave to dry naturally, or fluff up with heat tool.  Trim to size, mount on black cardstock, corner cut with Lace corner punch.  Thread red sparkly thread round corner notches for decoration, then adhere to red card.
